Kibale forest national park.
Kibale National Park contains one of the loveliest and most varied tracts of tropical forest in Uganda. Forest cover, interspersed with patches of grassland and swamp, dominates the northern and central parts of the park on an elevated plateau.
Kibale is famously known for Chimpanzee tracking
The park is home to a total of 70 mammal species, most famously 13 species of primate including the chimpanzee.
It also contains over 375 species of birds. Kibale adjoins Queen Elizabeth National Park to the south to create a 180km-long corridor for wildlife between Ishasha, the remote southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Queen Elizabeth national park is found in the western part of Uganda laying between Lakes Gorge, Edward and Albert with the Kazinga Channel crossing through its 700 sq. mile land area. Size: 1,978km². Queen Elizabeth spans the equator line; monuments on either side of the road mark the exact spot where it crosses latitude 00.The park was named after the Queen of England in 1954 following her visit,
The park is home to over 95 mammal species, which are the main attraction of the visitors to the park. It has four of the ‘Big Five’ namely Elephant, Leopard, Lion and Buffalo.
The park has a lot to offer ranging from herbivores; marine and eves depending on how you plan your visit and have the game drives and the time you spend in the park.
In queen Elizabeth national park there is Lake Katwe know as a traditional salt mining lake where the surrounding communities extract rock salt from and dry it at the landing area; miners construct semi permanent pools of water at the mining site to intensify the evaporation in order to extract salt you shall as well have a chance of seeing how salt is tapped or extracted, mined and then made ready for consumption and refining.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale forest national park
You will wake up early morning then hit the road and head to Kibale forest national park, however the drive park is a less tire-sum drive of roughly 6-7 hours depending on the stopovers. On your way you will be able to enjoy a lot ranging from beautiful scenery, landscape

Day 2: Chimp trecking and Bigodi swamp walk
Wake up early morning have breakfast and then head to the briefing point and set off for chimp tracking. After chimp tracking which approximately takes 3-4 hours then you will have hot lunch at the hotel and then after hot lunch you will head for the bigodi swamp walk.
For these activities you will need good hiking closed shoes, long trousers, with long sleeved clothes for safety in the park against safari ants, clipper plants which most of which are thorny and toxic.
The Swamp Walk runs through the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary, about 5 km from the entrance to Kibale Forest National Park. It’s one of the best places for bird-watching in Uganda, and its home to a huge variety of monkey species.
Better yet, the walk is part of a community tourism initiative that has transformed the lives of people in Bigodi Trading Center. It’s one of the best examples in the world of your money going to support genuine sustainable development projects. And it’s one of the most accessible wildlife tours in East Africa for backpackers on a tight budget.
After the swamp walk we shall then proceed to queen Elizabeth national park through Kasese town with the magical views of the great mountains of the moon, a lot will be seen with beautiful scenery plenty of craters and beautiful landscape.
Before check in at the hotel we shall have a brief game drive to have our chances counted more in the wild and see what nature shall offer for the evening.

Day 3: Wake up early morning to catch up with the early grazers and carnivores in the park some of these animals include the tree climbing lions, leopards, hyena more to it will be life memorable having the raising sun catch you in the wild searching for the best offer of the day, depending on your luck several other animal species can be spotted, like Elephants, plenty of antelopes, Defassa waterbuck, hippos, hyena, topi, reedbuck and plenty of bird species.
During a short break after the game drive we shall relax then enjoy the salt lake experience and do curio-shopping, then we shall have a channel drive as we proceed to Mweya peninsula have hot lunch there as we wait for the afternoon boat cruise.
On the afternoon boat cruise on the great Kazinga channel, which is the known longest channel in Uganda, it connects lake George and lake Edward and harbors several animal species, bird species. This will be your perfect time to see animals blousing.
On this boat cruise mainly we shall have the best moments with the hippopotamus, which are also one of the main highlights of our safari.
Day 4: Safe drive back to Kampala
You will wake in the morning then have a lazy morning breakfast and then hit the road back to Kampala.
You will wake up early morning then hit the road and head to Kampala, however the drive park is a less tire-sum drive of roughly 5-6 hours depending on the stopovers. On your way you will be able to enjoy a lot ranging from beautiful scenery of the Masaka corridor, pictography, and several stop overs not forgetting the memorable equator experience.
Uganda being crossed by the EQUATOR, whereby you will cross from the southern hemisphere back to the northern hemisphere and have breath-taking experience fascinating weather changes.
The drive back to Kampala shall be through Lake Mburo national park and we shall have high chances of spotting some animals like zebras, the great long horned Ankole cattle.
Lunch enroot shall be had at the equator as you further relax and enjoy life at 0o, On our way back expect to see tea farms as we drive back and more to this we can as well get a short experience of tea processing and farming.
The drop off in Kampala shall be around evening time at any desired location.
