Parks at a Glance

 Semuliki National Park, is located in Bwamba County, a remote part of the Bundibugyo District, in the Western Region of Uganda. It was made a national park in October 1993 and is one of Uganda’s newest national parks. 219 km2 (85 sq. mi) of East Africa’s only lowland tropical rainforest is found in the park. It is one of the richest areas of floral and faunal diversity in Africa, with bird and butterfly species being especially diverse. The park has a lot to offer but mainly with hot springs both male and female.

Kibale National Park is a national park in western Uganda, protecting moist evergreen rainforest. It is 766 square kilometers (296 sq. mi) in size and ranges between 1,100 meters (3,600 ft.) and 1,600 meters (5,200 ft.) in elevation. Despite encompassing primarily moist evergreen forest, it contains a diverse array of landscapes. Kibale is one of the last remaining expanses to contain both lowland and montane forests. In eastern Africa, it sustains the last significant expanse of pre-montane forest and hosting over 15 species of primates thus being called the primate capital.

 Lake Mburo National Park is a compact gem, located conveniently close to the highway that connects Kampala to the parks of western Uganda. It is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks and underlain by ancient Precambrian metamorphic rocks which date back more than 500 million years. It is home to 350 bird species as well as zebra, impala, eland, buffalo, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippo, hyena, topi and reedbuck.

 Queen Elizabeth national park is found in the western part of Uganda laying between Lakes Gorge and Albert with the Kazinga Channel crossing through its 700 sq mile land area. Size: 1,978km². Queen Elizabeth spans the equator line; monuments on either side of the road mark the exact spot where it crosses latitude 00.

The park was named after the Queen of England in 1954 following her visit, The Park is home to over 95 mammal species, which are the main attraction of the visitors to the park. It has four of the ‘Big Five’ namely Elephant, Leopard, Lion and Buffalo.

Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. Its Located in south-western Uganda, at the junction of the plain and mountain forests, Bwindi Park covers 32,000 ha and is known for its exceptional biodiversity, with more than 160 species of trees and over 100 species of ferns. Many types of birds and butterflies can also be found there, as well as many endangered species, including the mountain gorilla which we regard to as a big deal

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel of residence and then transfer to Fort-portal the tourism city on your travel expect beautiful scenery consisting of vegetation like savannah and mangrove vegetation on the way you will have stopovers for pictures as the scenic drive has a lot to offer in terms of beauty. This drive will take you 5-6 hours and then you will have lunch break at gardens in Fort portal then in the afternoon proceed to Semuliki and have a nature walk and view the hot springs.

In the evening you will check in at hotel and relax waiting for early dinner as you wait for tomorrows offer.

Day 2: You will wake up early morning we check out and proceed to queen Elizabeth national park but as we leave Kibale we shall have a crater drive as we proceed to queen. This drive to queen Elizabeth national park is a 3-4 hour drive offering a breath taking landscapes with beauty of the mountains of the moon through Kasese town, as well see the destructive glacial river Nyambwamba from the Rwenzori ranges.

You will have hot lunch in Mweya peninsula at BWANATEMBO restaurant in the park. And hot lunch in the afternoon when the scorching sun has reduced then we shall have a boat cruise on the great Kazinga channel, which is the known longest channel in Uganda, it connects lake George and lake Edward and harbors several animal species, bird species. This will be your perfect time to see animals blousing as well as have a perfect evening in the park. On this boat cruise expect to see plenty of aquatic bird species like the African skimmers, elephants and so much. If time allows later in the afternoon after the boat cruise we shall have a short game drive then retire to the hotel and rest.

Day 3: Wake up early morning to catch up with the early grazers and carnivores of queen Elizabeth national park, it will be life memorable having the raising sun catch you in the wild searching for the best offer of the day, depending on your luck several animal species can be spotted and cats. That’s Elephant, Leopard, Lion and Buffalo.

After this short game drive we then proceed to the southern sector of queen Elizabeth national park called Ishasha. This is a magical drive once in a life time, with a lot to offer, many animal species shall be seen on the way like topis, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs and landing sites like Gweshama and so much more as well as a scenic drive through Maramagambo forest.

After the drive through Ishasha we shall proceed to Bwindi as we reserve energy for magical and breathtaking gorilla trecking experience the next day.

 Day 4: On this memorable morning we wake up early and have our breakfast then head for briefing at the park head quarters then start off our gorilla trecking experience. You will be given parked lunch due to the fact that the time of the experience is un predictable. More to this rain gears are also recommendable due to the fact that the rain in the park also comes un-noticed. Bwindi is habitat to more than half the world’s population of Mountain Gorillas.

Actually there are over 380 mountain gorillas living here thus Bwindi impenetrable national park sheltering over 50% of the world’s last living mountain gorillas. And as a gorilla trecking experience you will have a chance of seeing one gorilla family.

On return from the experience you shall rest and relax and enjoy the hotel scenery and later in the afternoon you shall go for the Batwa experience; Originally, The Batwa were forest-dwelling hunters and gatherers based in the Great Lakes region of Central Africa and the first inhabitants of the African forests. The establishment of the Bwindi and Mgahinga National Parks for Mountain Gorillas in 1991 enabled the authorities to evict the Batwa definitely from the forest. In 1992, the lives of the Batwa changed forever, when the forest became a national park and world heritage site in order to protect the endangered mountain gorillas that reside within its boundaries. The Batwa were evicted from the park and became conservation refugees in a world that was very unfamiliar to them and in this activity or walk we get to see how this people’s life style was back then in the forest and how it has changed in the new communities they stay.

 Day 5: We shall wake up in the morning have breakfast then hit the road and head to lake Mburo national park, however the drive to L.mburo national park is a short drive of roughly 4-5 hours depending on the stopovers, your way you will be able to enjoy a lot ranging from beautiful scenery of the hilly terraces of Kanungu , pictography, and several stop overs not forgetting the drive through Mbarara city where we shall have hot lunch then get to lake mburo national park with an evening game drive then check in at the hotel.

In the game drive you should expect to see several animals counting better with your look before nature’s dictation. You will be able to see zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, Deface waterbucks, leopards, hippos hyenas, topis, reedbuck and plenty of bird species.

 Day 6: You will wake up early in the morning and have a memorable life experience of nature walk in the park Unusually; the whole park is open to walkers as long as a ranger guide accompanies them. In this walk you will be able to have a close encounter to some of the wild animals in the park like zebras and many others.

After the nature walk you will get to the hotel and have hot lunch then enjoy the hotel swimming at the hotel swimming pool with the views of the park and animals.

After lunch and relaxation you will have a smooth drive back to the capital through the Ankole Masaka corridor. However the drive back to Kampala is short of roughly 3-4 hours depending on the stopovers. on your way you will be able to enjoy a lot ranging from beautiful scenery of the Masaka corridor, pictography, and several stop overs not forgetting the memorable equator experience Uganda being crossed by the EQUATOR, whereby you will cross from the southern hemisphere to the northern hemisphere and have a breath-taking experience fascinating weather changes.

And more to this clear payment should be made before the start of the safari to avoid inconveniences in terms of booking, in other wards the earlier the better.

 Payments for chimpanzee and gorilla permits have to be made earlier even a year or several months before the start of the safari this is due to the un availability of space and number limitation of clients visiting that particular activity per day to keep the carriage capacity in control.
